Petition ID 5934: New registrations at World Community Grid are broken

Hi!

WCG is currently struggling to recover from ownership change. In particular, new devices are not automatically added to user’s statistics, so don’t show up in either “my contribution” or XML, so you can’t register at Cobblestone Cottage.

Previously TigerLily responded to these threads and added devices manually, but now they’re no longer an admin and it’s not clear whether there are currently any admins at all:

All of this was kind of a pain to discover manually by browsing forums, so maybe some info about this situation should be added to Cobblestone Cottage? Like, “if your contribution is not updated in a couple of days, try posting your device ID at https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,44607 and see if anyone responds”.

since WCG is no longer run by IBM.

I’m hoping that they’ll resolve this situation, but if not, maybe Cobblestone Cottage could be moved to another BOINC project?
