When you've tried too many times to get a Gargleblast, the "Dan eyes you critically" text is doubled; it reads:

Dan looks at you sort-of sideways like. He never was the sort who would trust anyone farther than he could throw them, which gave squats a decided advantage, except in provinces where squat tossing was made illegal. Dan polishes a glass, holds it up to the light of the door as another patron opens it to stagger out into the street. He then makes a face, spits on the glass and goes back to polishing it. "What d'ya want?" he asks gruffly.
Dan eyes you critically. "Ya've had enough of the hard stuff, my friend. No more of that for you today."
{barkeep} eyes you critically. "Ya've had enough of the hard stuff, my friend. No more of that for you today."
You now feel pleasantly buzzed.
