My char had Non-Newtonian Shock Gloves when I defeated the drive, and this came up on the bottom of the screen after the talk with the Watcher:

"You are now known as Warrant Officer Sorrel Rove!!

Because you have destroyed the Improbability Drive 13 times, you start with some extras. You also keep additional permanent hitpoints you've earned.
You gain FIVE charm points for having destroyed the Improbability Drive!
You seem to have misplaced your helmet

The unique properties of your Non-Newtonian Shock Gloves some of your abilities..."
