Petition Details and ChatPetition ID 773: Talkcol affects Place descriptionsSubmitted Tue, 12 Jun 2012 18:19:21 BST WHAT: If a room has "no chat" set, then if the room or page descriptions use the colour code # then the bits which should be light cyan appear in the player's set talkcol (for me, that's usually @, but I tested with L, X, k, and ~). I've checked - it's not chatcol, just talkcol. It applies in FF and in Chrome. It does not apply if there is a story channel (and, presumably, not if there is story and banter). So, I assume, the game is checking whether there is somewhere that the player can input text: - if not, then it looks up their talkcol and uses that where the colour code is # - if there is a text box, then it has # as light cyan and checks the player's chatcol when they start entering text. HOW: in a Place, have a room or a page which includes the colour code #. Set that room to not have a chat channel. Set your talkcol to something other than #. I don't know if this applies in all other places where there's no chat channel - in-game stories yes, monster descriptions yes, lessons yes, etc. Bios? WHERE: Currently visible at http://www.improbableisland.com/runmodule.php?module=places&op=room&placeid=755&roomid=5212&pageid=2282&c=260-181431 WHEN: first found today.
