Like I said in the forums, I love the new outpost hitpoint and player-count we got today. Both sound useful (and likely to make onslaught a little easier on people). I would like to suggest one teeny-tiny (but, I believe, important!) cosmetic change to the latter. Here's what IC looks like to me now:


All around you, the people of Improbable Central move about their business. No one seems to pay much attention to you as they all seem absorbed in their own lives and problems. Along various streets you see many different types of shops, each with a sign out front proclaiming the business done therein. Off to one side, you see a very curious looking rock which attracts your eye with its strange shape and color. People are constantly entering and leaving via the city gates to a variety of destinations.

The high sun makes the unrelenting humidity seem even worse. Some residents have taken shelter under the shade of a nearby tree, while hardier locals exercise in the head of the day.

You can't help but glance up at the guards patrolling the Outpost walls - the noise is deafening, although where a few minutes ago it was mostly rifle shots and lightning claps, it's now the crash and splinter of the Outpost walls themselves. Monsters are tearing down the walls, and the Outpost guards are overwhelmed. If the monsters are not subdued, they will keep on battering the walls - and if the walls are breached, they'll come pouring in and overrun the Outpost.

Looking around, you see a lot of terrified faces. Some people are hammering new wood to the walls, and some are readying weapons. All of them are scared - they know that if the walls are breached, it's honestly pretty likely that everyone will die. Most businesses are closed - Sheila's Shack and eBoy's Trading Station are naturally staying open until the monsters flood the Outpost because hell, what else are they to do?

As people panic and scream in the streets below, a familiar voice issues from a nearby loudspeaker.

"Bloody hell, you lot... Do I have to do everything myself? Right, I'm on my way."

Improbable Central prepares for death or glory.

The flavourtext mentions that there are many, many people in IC, on almost every line - except the last one, which tells me that it is almost deserted. I know that the early description is of NPCs and the later one of player characters, but I still find it a bit jarring. (And, I think, it encourages people to rp that there are no npcs even more than many already often do, which I think is a bit of a shame, because they're interesting and there for a reason.)

So, the tiny cosmetic change I propose: would it be possible to have that last line read "Looking around, you see there is only one other contestant here."?
A small change, yes, but an important one, I think.
