Petition ID 419: character names don't display in Mobile Friendly skin in some browsers

I was logged in to II using Safari. I activated the "Mobile Friendly" skin, and in the chatspace, I see the indicator of whether the character is in the area, logged in, or whatnot, and I see what they say, but the character name is missing. When I switched back to Default skin the problem went away. I switched back and forth a few times, and the same thing happened each time.
I checked it in Firefox, and the same issue shows up. But it doesn't happen in Chrome and IE (yes, I have many browsers installed). Browser compatibility issue?
I can send a screenie if you need, though I think you'll be able to reproduce it yourself using Safari or Firefox.
