If you click in the text box, and then type just a grave accent " ' " (no spaces), it will post:

<username> says ""

If you click in the text box, and type : to emote, then a space, and then a grave accent, it posts:

<username>

So, that looks pretty weird! I'm sure we didn't used to be able to do that, and probably shouldn't now.
