As the text in the Hunter's Lodge clearly says, permanent reusable items should only be giftable when they are unused. Upon testing, though... I haven't actually made a gift, but used items do show up as giftable. That means, either:
- the 'giftable' property is not being removed when reusable items are used, or else
- it's being set to zero, but the gifting station code is checking for the existence of the property, not its value.
This is an exploit because, as the comment above shows, people have come to think it quite normal to lend a reusable item and then get it back. This is all very generous and trusting of them, I suppose, and it shows that players have embraced the altruistic gifting culture of the Island, but it has been costing you a fair number of fivers, Dan, ever since... well, probably since the gifting station was first written.
