Having problems with rent this month...

Hey, guys. I'm about $300 short on my rent this month, both Emily and my laptops could use new parts (both are having graphics problems; mine needs a new motherboard, and Emily's needs a new LCD assembly, both are about sixty bucks each), and in general we could really use a hand.

If you've been meaning to donate, now would be a really good time. I've added a solid week to the Altruism Bar, so any donations will result in big Stamina bonuses.

EDIT: Here is a thread in the Enquirer that has had some good ideas already. We need two things, money and ideas. If you're broke right now - and it seems just about everybody is - skullsweat is free, and ideas are a good way to help save the Island. Please stop by that thread and tell us about any ideas you've got. Thanks!

EDIT EDIT: We had some downtime this morning; that wasn't due to our money problems, I just forgot to bounce Apache after clearing the APC cache before going to bed. Whoops. Sorry about that!

If I seem quiet the next few days, it's because my laptop's motherboard finally gave out, and a new one is on its way from eBay. Yeah, baking the damn thing in the oven every other week got old real fast.

Upgraded Gifting Station and Global Banter experiment

Hey, folks! The Gifting Station in Common Ground has been updated with a new interface! Now it's easy to send loads of gifts to loads of people at once.

We're starting a new experiment! All Banter spaces are now the same chatroom. There's a good deal of talk on the Enquirer about what the results could be, social-dynamics-wise, but there's no consensus, so we're just gonna try it and see if we like it! Making all the Banter spaces the same is actually a pretty non-destructive change, code-wise, and we can always go back to separate Banter areas if we decide we liked it better the old way.

(update: yes, Places will have their Banters mucked about with more - they'll have per-room Banter, per-house Banter, global Banter or no Banter at all, within a few days)

(Update update: Places Banter settings are now in place!)
